Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis), Empire Ranch in the Las Ciengas National Conservation Area, Pima County

This Gray Catbird was discovered and photographed by James McKay on 13 June 2009 in Empire Gulch near where the water begins.

Gray Catbird is casual in June in the southeastern Arizona lowlands.

No other bird is uniformly slate gray with a black cap.
