Ovenbird (Seiurus aurocapilla), Cameron Trading Post garden, Coconino County

This Ovenbird was discovered on the AZFO Expedition to northeastern Arizona in the garden of the Cameron Trading Post by Andrew Core, Chuck LaRue, John Yerger, and David Moll on 25 September 2009..  It was photographed by Andrew Core on 25 September 2009.

Ovenbird is a casual summer visitor and transient in Arizona, but usually recorded annually.

Physically it is a unique heavy-billed warbler with dark greenish-brown back, wings and tail; white underparts with heavy black streaking; white eyering giving it a big-eyed appearance; and distinctive tawny crown bordered by narrow black head stripes.
