Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), Spirit Tree Inn, Santa Cruz County

This Rufous-backed Robin was discovered and photographed by Moez Ali on 04 November 2009.

Rare but possibly increasing winter visitor.  This is the fourth documented report for this fall. 

Distinguished from similar American Robin by orange eyes, eye-ring and bill, streaked throat and obvious reddish back and upperwing coverts.
