Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), Tumacacori, Santa Gertrudis Lane., Santa Cruz County

This Rufous-backed Robin was discovered by Michael Marsden and Donna Knox opposite the driveway to 12 Santa Gertrudis Lane in Tumacacori on 17 October 2009.  It was photographed by Tyler Loomis on 18 October 2009, by Jim Hays on 27 October 2009 and by Tony Leonardini on 24 October 2009.

Rare but regular winter visitor, usually seen October to early April.

Dark face and extensive throat streaking separate Rufous-backed from American Robin in these views.
