Dickcissel (Spiza americana), At my backyard feeding station in Vail., Pima CountyThis Dickcissel was
discovered and photographed by Jeff Babson on 14 November 2009 at his backyard
feeder. Dickcissels are a rare fall migrant in Arizona, usually
passing through the state from late August to early October. They are
accidental after October. This individual appears to be a female based on the absence of the black bib found in males. This bird shows the yellow breast patch and supercilium and chestnut wing patch that help identify the species.
