Ruddy Ground-Dove (Columbina talpacoti), Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area, Cochise County

Female Ruddy Ground-Dove found at Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area by Mark Stevnson on 10 November 2009.

Rare to uncommon visitor and occasional nester in Arizona, currently arriving in relatively large numbers.

This female shows an all-gray bill, no "scaly" appearance to the head, black spots on the scapulars and wing coverts and white edging on the greater coverts.
