Worm-eating Warbler (Helmitheros vermivorum), Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Pima County

This Worm-eating Warbler was discovered at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum on 05 November 2009 by Susan Parker-Hotchkiss.  It was photographed by Andrew Core on 07 November 2009 near the gallery wall and the fountain courtyard.

Worm-eating Warbler is a casual transient and winter visitor with a few summer records as well.

It is one of the most distinctive warblers and, seen well, it is unmistakable.  Note the large bill, striped head, buffy overall color with plain wings and tail.
