Dickcissel (Spiza americana), Lonely Dell Ranch, Lee's Ferry, Coconino County

This Dickcissel was discovered and photographed by Shaun Putz on 06 October 2009.

Dickcissels are a rare fall migrant in Arizona, usually passing through the state from late August to early October. However, 2009 has been a very good year for this species, with many reports. 

Note yellow on the face.
