Greater Scaup (Aythya marila), unnamed pond near Payson Country Club, Gila County

This Greater Scaup was discovered and photographed by Eric Hough on 19 December 2009 during the Payson CBC.

Rare away from the Lower Colorado River Valley. 

This female scaup appeared to have an overall rounded head with a slight peak at the forehead and a large bill with defined black tip.
