Red Phalarope (Phalaropus fulicarius), Green Valley Waste Water Treatment Plant, Pima County

This Red Phalarope was discovered and photographed by Dick Dionne on 25 January 2010.

Casual transient at ponds and lakes in SE AZ, chiefly in the fall, but also in every month except March.

Plain gray back and thick bill with a yellow base separate basic plumage Red Phalarope from Wilson's and Red-necked.
