Black-capped Gnatcatcher (Polioptila nigriceps), Private Property, Patagonia, Santa Cruz County

This Black-capped Gnatcatcher was discovered and photographed by Chris Benesh on 16 December 2010 on private property. 

Recently increased in abundance in Arizona, though 2010 has seen fewer records than in recent years.

Visible in photo are long bill, blackish shadowed brow, long, strongly graduated tail. Distinctive calls were also heard and recorded.
