Snow x Ross's Goose (Chen caerulescens X C. rossii), Rotary Park, Lake Havasu City, Mohave County

This probable Snow x Ross's Goose hybrid was discovered by David Vander Pluym on 16 December 2010 and was photographed by him on 19 December 2010.

Similar to a young Ross's Goose with a largely white body and small bill. However the bird showed a longer than typical Ross's Goose bill and showed a moderate sized "grin" patch. It's body size was intermediate between Snow and the other Ross's Geese present (though closer to a Ross's in size). The bird also showed a sloping forehead more typical of a Snow Goose.  Finally the margin between the bill and face is curved in Snow Goose and straight in Ross's Goose.  This bird is intermediate, but definitely more curved than in a typical Ross's Goose.
