Yellow-rumped (Audubon's) x Townsend's Warbler hybrid (Dendroica coronata audubon X D. townsendi), Near confluence of Agua Fria and Gila Rivers, Maricopa CountyThis
Yellow-rumped (Audubon's) x Townsend's Warbler hybrid was discovered and photographed by Troy Corman on 28 April 2010.
Very rare hybrid combination. A brief search found a few reports of Townsend's x Myrtle Warbler hybrids, but not Audubon's,
although such a combination might be expected given their breeding range overlap. Superficially looks like a male Yellow-rumped (Audubon's) Warbler, but note black extending into the throat region, bold yellow supercilium, more extensive black auricular region, yellow on the breast and heavier streaking on the sides which are male Townsend's characteristics.
