Hybrid Blue-winged X Cinnamon Teal (Anas discors X A. cyanoptera), Gilbert Water Ranch, Maricopa County

This Hybrid Blue-winged X Cinnamon Teal was discovered by Rich Ditch and photographed by Brendon Grice on 21 March 2010 in Pond 5 of the Gilbert Water Ranch.

A fairly common hybrid combination.

The hybrid is the rear bird.  The front bird is a pure Cinnamon Teal.  Note the white facial crescent and blue green head color of the Blue-winged Teal and the cinnamon sides of the Cinnamon Teal in the hybrid bird.
