Tricolored Heron (Egretta tricolor), Willcox Twin Lakes, Willcox, Arizona, Cochise County

This Tricolored Heron was discovered by Beth Boeckel and photographed by James Barr and Dave Stejskal on 26 April 2010 at Willcox Twin Lakes. The Heron was on the north side of the lake adjacent to the west side of the golf course.

Casual visitor to SE Arizona, usually in the summer.  A search of the listserv archives showed that last one was reported in 2006. 

Contrast between dark breast and white belly unique in all plumages.
