Long-tailed Jaeger (Stercorarius longicaudus), Lake Havasu, Mohave County

This Long-tailed Jaeger was discovered by Jim Logan and Tom Linda on 18 September 2010 and photographed by Tom Benson on 19 September 2010.

There are about 10 previous records of this species in the state.

Although this individual lacks the characteristic long central tail feathers, the lack of a breast band and white on the two primary shafts are diagnostic for Long-tailed Jaeger.
