Lapland Longspur (Calcarius lapponicus), Rousseau Sod Farm, Maricopa County

This Lapland Longspur was discovered and photographed by James McKay on 06 November 2010. 

Lapland Longspur is a casual migrant and winter visitor in Arizona with fewer than 15 accepted records. However, the Rousseau Sod Farms has been a very good place to find this species and several of the records come from there.

Rusty wing patch, dark frame on face, dark breast band, white belly, and long primary projection with evenly spaced primaries.
