Palm Warbler (Dendroica palmarum), Kino Springs golf course club house, Santa Cruz County

This Palm Warbler was discovered by Carol Riddell on 07 December 2010 and photographed by Rick Taylor on 10 December 2010.

Palm Warbler is a casual transient and winter visitor. There are over 50 records for the state and for a while it was removed from the Arizona Bird Committee Review list, but, like some other boreal breeding warblers, its occurrence in Arizona in recent years has declined and it was returned to the review list.

Brown cap, strong supercilium, mustardyellow rump, bright yellow undertail coverts. Whitish facial stripes and breast indicate bird is probably the expected western race D. p. palmarum.
