Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), Kingman, Mohave County

This Rufous-backed Robin was discovered and photographed by Lauren Harter on 19 January 2011

This species is a rare but regular winter visitor in Arizona, but is typically seen in southern Arizona. There are few records for the northern half of the state.

The rufous back, white throat with long black streaks, and lack of white around the eye distinguish this species from American Robin.
