Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), Hassayampa River Preserve, Maricopa County

This Rufous-backed Robin was discovered and photographed by Dominic Sherony on 04 February 2011.

Rare but seemingly regular winter visitor to southern Arizona with several usually reported every year.

Rusty back and upper wing coverts, dark streaking on mostly white throat, orange bill, and lack of white arcs around eye separate this species from American Robin.
