Winter Wren (Troglodytes hiemalis), Cave Creek Canyon, Chiricahuas, Cochise County

This Winter Wren was discovered and photographed by Chris Benesh on 12 February 2011.

The status of this newly split species in Arizona is still unclear, but it appears to be a rare but regular winter visitor. 

Paler throat and more pale spotted coverts compared to Pacific Wren, and diagnostic call notes.
