Hybrid Costa's X Lucifer Hummingbird (Calypte costae X Calothorax lucifer), Ash Canyon B&B Hereford, Cochise County

This Hybrid hummer Costa_s X Lucifer was photographed by Tony Battiste on 03 June 2011.

A similar bird of presumably the same parentage was reported at this location in 2010.  It is not known if this is the same individual. 

Long, slightly decurved bill and long, pointed tail as in Lucifer. Gorget color and flair of Costa's, partial iridescent color of gorget on back of head as in Costa's.
