Ovenbird (Seiurus aurocapilla), Chiricahua National Monument, Cochise County

This Ovenbird was discovered and photographed by Moez Ali on 14 May 2011.

An Eastern species that is a casual transient mostly in spring migration.

Distinctive warbler with bold white eye ring, orangish lateral crown stripe bordered by black stripes, and bold dark streaking on white underparts. Largely terrestrial and walks rather than hops.
