Tufted Flycatcher (Mitrephanes phaeocercus), Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Pinal County

This Tufted Flycatcher discovered by John Saba on 06 July 2011 and was photographed by Jack Holloway the same day.  Unfortunately it proved to be a one day wonder and was not found on subsequent days.

There are four previous records of this species for North America, two from Arizona and two from Texas.

Unmistakable small flycatcher with a cinnamon underparts and a conspicuous crest.
