Hooded Warbler (Wilsonia citrina), Flagstaff, near 900 N. Switzer Canyon Dr., Coconino County

This Hooded Warbler was discovered and photographed by Eric Hough on 06 September 2011.

Rare transient and summer visitor with most records in the spring. A former review species, reports have increased over the last few years and there are now multiple reports every year.  However, in the last couple of years, reports seem to have declined again.

Adult female, with dark hood extending down behind auriculars (even a very faint, dusky collar) and dark lores leading to long/thin bill. Bright yellow face and underparts with olive-green back and tail. Outer white tail feathers seen when it flicked/fanned its tail a couple of times.
