Short-billed Dowitcher (Limnodromus griseus), St. Johns wastewater treatment plant, Apache County

This Short-billed Dowitcher was discovered during the AZFO expedition led by Troy Corman and photographed by Eric Hough on 28 August 2011.

Rare spring migrant and uncommon fall migrant. This fall seems to have greater numbers than usual. 

Rufous barring on tertials and "too-too-too" calls diagnostic for this species. At least three of the dowitchers present were determined to be this species.
