Dickcissel (Spiza americana), West of Green Valley, Pima County

This Dickcissel was discovered and photographed by Laurens Halsey on 04 October 2011.

Usually a rare fall migrant, however this and last fall there has been an increase in reports.

Yellow supercillium & malar with dark malar strip, yellow center of breast, rusty median coverts. Lack of streaks on breast indicate adult and lack of any blackish on chest indicate female.
