Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus), Pena Blanca Lake, Santa Cruz County

This adult Least Grebe with young was photographed on10 October 2011 by Frank Kee.

A casual straggler to ponds in southern Arizona, the species has been present and breeding at Pena Blanca Lake since July 2010.

Least Grebe is a small, short-necked grebe with yellow eyes, a thin dark bill, and a gray face, neck, and back.
