Glaucous Gull (Larus hyperboreus), Lake Havasu, Site 6, La Paz County

This Glaucous Gull was first spotted by Chris Benesh in a group that included Mark Ochs, Molly Pollock, Gary Rosenberg, Mark Stevenson, and David Vander Pluym on 23 December 2011. It was photographed by Chris Benesh, Gary Rosenberg and David Vander Pluym on the same day and by Melanie Herring on 15 January 2012. 

Casual visitor to the state with three previous records.

First cycle Glaucous Gull. White primaries, strongly bi-colored bill, dark eye, and fine marbling to much of plumage suggestive of this species.
