Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), Anthem Community Park, Maricopa County

This Rufous-backed Robin was discovered by David Taylor on 05 December 2011 and photographed by Jason Wilder on 12 December 2011.

Rare but seemingly regular fall and winter visitor to southern Arizona with several usually reported every year.

Rusty back and upper wing coverts, dark streaking on mostly white throat, orange bill, and lack of white arcs around eye separate this species from American Robin.
