Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), Slaughter Ranch, Cochise County

This Rufous-backed Robin was discovered by Richard Webster on 30 November 2011 and photographed by Andy Bankert on 02 December 2011.

Rare but seemingly regular fall and winter visitor to southern Arizona with several usually reported every year.

Rusty back and upper wing coverts, dark streaking on mostly white throat, orange bill, and lack of white arcs around eye separate this species from American Robin.
