Scarlet Tanager (Piranga olivacea), western Tucson residential area, Pima County

This Scarlet Tanager was discovered and photographed by Rick Taylor on 01 December 2012

There are 25 previously accepted records for the state, although five other reports are currently pending with the ABC from the last two years.

Very small toothed upper mandible.  Very green upperparts lacking contrasting nape or rump. Showed only 1 weak wingbar on dark wing.
