Eastern Phoebe (Sayornis phoebe), Rio Salado Restoration Area, Maricopa County

This Eastern Phoebe was discovered and photographed by James McKay on 21 January 2012.

Eastern Phoebe is a rare but regular winter visitor to Arizona.

Dark cap,rounded head, pale throat, white below, and weak wing bars. This bird also regularly "pumped" its notched tail.
