Gray Hawk (Buteo nitidus), Cienega Creek, Pima County

This immature Gray Hawk was discovered and photographed by Moez Ali on 22 January 2012

Locally common, migratory summer resident.  Casual in winter. 

Bold white supercilium and dark facial stripes, overall brown plumage with pale underparts spotted brown, banded tail and pale rump.
