Mew Gull (Larus canus), Page Sewage Treatment Plant, Coconino County

This Mew Gull was reported at nearby Wahweap Marina by Shaun Putz on 03 January 2012 and may be the same Mew Gull he found in the area in November 2011.  It was photographed by Mark Stevenson on 11 January 2012

Mew Gull is a casual winter visitor to Arizona with fewer than 15 records, but there have been several reports this winter. 

Uniformly pale brownish, brownish flight feathers and smallish, pale bill with dark tip.  Daintier, rounder head than Ring-billed.
