Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), St David, Cochise County

This Rufous-backed Robin was discovered by Erika Wilson in St. David in a small copse of woods across from #234 Goldenbell Street. It was with some other robins.   It was photographed by Michael Tarachow on 13 January 2012

Regular fall and winter visitor to southern Arizona with several usually reported every year.

Rusty back and upper wing coverts, dark streaking on mostly white throat, orange bill, and lack of white arcs around eye separate this species from American Robin.
