Ruddy Ground-Dove (Columbina talpacoti), Hidden Shores RV Resort, Yuma County

This Ruddy Ground-Dove was discovered by Paul Lehman on 05 November 2012 and photographed by Henry Detwiler on 06 November 2012.

Rare bird from Mexico. Some years more common than others--has been absent from this area the last two years.

Gray bill, black marks on tertials and scapulars, and lack of scaly pattern on breast and head distinguish this from Common Ground-Dove.
