White-winged Scoter (Melanitta fusca), Bill Williams Delta of Lake Havasu, Mohave County

These White-winged Scoter were discoverd by Lauren Harter on 13 November 2012 and photographed by David Vander Pluym on 13 and 16 November 2012. 

Rare fall migrant and winter visitor, it has returned to being annual in the state after nearly a decade of very few records.

Large heavy bodied, dark duck with contrasting white secondaries.
