This White-winged Scoter was found by David Moll on 28 December 2012 and photographed by Bryan Patrick on 29 December 2012.

White-winged Scoter is a rare winter vistor to Arizona.

The extensive white lores, white 'ear' patch, and white secondaries easily separates White-winged from other scoter species.
