Golden-crowned Sparrow (Zonotrichia atricapilla), Catalina State Park, Pima County

This Golden-crowned Sparrow was discovered by Larry Norris on 21 January 2012 and photographed by Philip Kline on 03 February 2012.

Golden-crowned Sparrow is a rare transient and winter visitor which however occurs annually. It is most often found in large flocks of White-crowned Sparrows.

Plain gray face and yellow forecrown.
