Red-breasted Sapsucker (Sphyrapicus ruber), Page Springs Fish Hatchery, Yavapai County

This Red-breasted Sapsucker was discovered on 22 January 2012 by Chrissy Smith and photographed by Gary Botello on 04 February 2012.

Rare but increasingly regular winter visitor to Arizona.

Extensive red head and no black breast band, which would otherwise indicate a hybrid with Red-naped Sapsucker.
