Streak-backed Oriole (Icterus pustulatus), Private residence at: The Greens Condos, E Sunrise and Kolb, Tucson, Pima County

This Streak-backed Oriole was photographed by Ron Haupt on 23 March 2012 at a private residence in Tucson (first three photos).  This may be a returning bird as a Streak-backed Oriole was photographed in March 2011 by the property owner (Dave Peterson) who at the time did not know how rare it was (see fourth photo).

Casual vistior, mostly in fall and winter. 17 previous accepted records, with two more pending.

Adult with bright flame orange-red head and chest, especially brightest in malars and cheeks, entire underparts bright orange, heavy white wing edgings, yellow-orange back with dark streaks, all black tail with white outer tips and heavy dark bill with gray base and straight upper mandible.
