Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (Tyrannus forficatus), Elgin, Santa Cruz County

This Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was discovered by Raymond VanBuskirk and Janet Ruth on 09 August 2012 and photographed by Alan Schmierer on 11 August 2012.

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher is a causal migrant and summer visitor to Arizona. It has nested twice; a pair was found nest building near Dudleyville, and one mated with a Western Kingbird in Camp Verde and produced hybrid young.

Unmistakable.
