Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (Tyrannus forficatus), Private residence Palominas near San Pedro river, Cochise CountyThis Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was
discovered by Gordon Lewis and photographed by Christie Van Cleve on 25 July 2012.
It was located near the San Pedro River associating loosely with a
very large flock of Kingbirds (Western and Cassin's). Scissor-tailed Flycatcher is a causal migrant and summer visitor to Arizona. It has nested twice; a pair was found nest building near Dudleyville, and one mated with a Western Kingbird in Camp Verde and produced hybrid young. Unmistakable. 25 July 2012, photo by Christie Van Cleve All photos are copyrighted© by photographer |
