Herring Gull (Larus argentatus), Rotary Park, Lake Havasu City, Mohave County

This Herring Gull was discovered by Lauren Harter and David Vander Pluym and photographed by David Vander Pluym on 26 April 2013.

Rare, but probably annual, in the lower Colorado River Valley. Very rare in the rest of the state. This is late for Arizona. 

Second year bird. Large gull with dark brown primaries, paler inner primaries, and paler gray back.
