Bobolink (Dolichonyx oryzivorus), Doney Park neighborhood on the east side of Flagstaff, Coconino County

This Bobolink was discovered by Craig Priest on 05 May 2013 and photographed by Zack Zdinak on 06 May 2013.

Once a rare, but regular fall migrant and occasional breeder in Eastern Arizona, Bobolink in recent years has become very rare and was added to the list of review species.   Last reported sighting in the Flagstaff area was at Kachina Wetlands on 12 May 2006.  Prior to that the last record was in 1991.

The black head with buff nape patch and white scapulars, lower back and rump are unique.
