Brown Thrasher (Toxostoma rufum), Doney Park neighborhood on the east side of Flagstaff, Coconino County

This Brown Thrasher was discovered by Craig Priest in November 2012 and photographed by Zack Zdinak between 06 May 2013.  The bird has been an almost daily yard visitor since late November.

Brown Thrasher is a causal fall, winter and spring visitor. Usually fewer than 1 or 2 are found every year, but they are possibly increasing.

The bright rufous back and tail, and bold brown streaking of the buffy breast distinguish Brown Thrashers from other thrashers in Arizona.
