Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus), Pena Blanca Lake, Santa Cruz County

This Least Grebe was discovered by Alan Fray on 06 April 2013 and photographed by Allen Pocock on 30 April 2013.

A casual straggler to ponds in southern Arizona, the species bred at this location in 2011 but has only been reported sporadically since the introduction of Largemouth Bass to the lake.

Small uniformly gray grebe with thin bill and bright yellow eyes.
