Stilt Sandpiper (Calidris himantopus), Along Pacific Avene east of Yuma, Yuma County

These Stilt Sandpiper was discovered and photographed by Henry Detwiler on 22 July 2013.

Casual migrant through the Lower Colorado River Valley.

In breeding plumage, boldly marked underparts and rusty auriculars make this species nearly unmistakable.
