American Tree Sparrow (Spizella arborea), Pasture Canyon, Coconino County
This American Tree Sparrow was
discovered by Chuck LaRue, Shaun Putz and Jason
Wilder and photographed by Jason Wilder on 09 November 2013.
A casual, though perhaps overlooked winter vistor to
Nothern Arizona. Four previously accepted records.
The combination of rufous crown and eye-stripe, dark spot on breast and bicolored bill make American Tree Sparrow quite distinctive.
